I shudder to think what they'd leave in some of the books I've worked on, Dan. Especially the one about tantric sex which I edited. It doesn't bear thinking about.
I've found various things of interest in books I've bought secondhand. One was two tickets for a cricket match in Australia. Another was an old promo card for an insurance company inviting young men to save for a boat and young women for their weddings. Yet another had an advert for Red Grouse whiskey that had been cut into a bookmark shape. Once I found a £5 note!

I found a passport once. It was nice to be able to return it to the frantic owner!
I wonder if they were left in appropriate books? e.g. the bacon in a cookbook, the Abductees Anonymous card in an X-Files novel, etc.?

The only thing I've ever found in a second-hand book is snot. I live in the wrong world, Buffy.
Hmm, maybe! And I'm not moving in :D.
Can't say I blame you. You've seen the snow picture, too, haven't you? Eugh.
