Taking A Short Break

I'm going to have to take a short break from my blog as my vision is failing again; I have posterior vitreous detachment, and it's going through one of its periodic flare-ups. I don't want to do any permanent damage to my sight, and over the last couple of days using the computer has become increasingly problematic: I'll be back as soon as I can, but meanwhile play nicely without me.

Take it very easy, treat yourself gently and eat quality food. Don't let seasonal demands stress you out.

I do hope the problem settles quickly.

A speedy recovery to you, Jane. My family struggles with eye problems, and they're no fun at all.

I hope you're not reading this but I am equally capable of using telepahy (not to mention that we have each other's phone numbers) so, TAKE CARE. We need you. Nxxxx

I hope someone else is reading this to you for the moment and that you will soon be reading again yourself. Thinking of you Jane!

If a good heart and talent speeds recovery--we'll be hearing from you soon. Meanwhile, relax to some wonderful music and have someone read all the caring thoughts coming your way.
Take care,

I'm very sorry to hear that. I work in a doctor's office so I'm all too familiar with "doctor's orders." Don't stress about it and take care of yourself. We will all be here anxiously awaiting your return if it is possile.

Hope a bit of rest and TLC leads to a speedy recovery, Jane.

You won't be reading this - I said YOU WON'T BE READING THIS - but take very great care and look after yourself.

You might try relaxing - people tell me it's great fun and quite de-stressing. Strange.

[word ver: fullogin. Well, it's a start...]

Sorry to hear about your condition, I hope it gets better.
It's only just occurred to me how much I take your Blog for granted. Your advice is always clear, direct and no nonsense and I have never thanked you for the Snowbooks tip.
So here it is, thank you for the tip and your guidance. LOL.
Take it easy, look after yourself and I hope to be able to read your posts again in the New Year sometime.
Reg :-)

Have just read this, Jane. Sorry to hear. Look after yourself and we hope to see you back on here cutting though the "frothing bullshit" with your Bleach of Truth before long.

Jane,

Take good care! Will miss you. BIG fan of your blog. You keep me company when I hit walls during the day with my writing. Today I came over to put off tweaking my synopsis YET again.

Do you like to do yoga? Don't know if you are up for it, but it is something I find very good for the spirit and computer-fatigued body.

Hope you feel better soon!

I have the same thing and the only thing to do is look away from the monitor and rest your eyes.

Hope you're better soon.

Take care.

oh god, i was sent to a retinal specialist in october. shocking, isn't it?

mine is related to extreme myopia, but i found this journal article informative: http://bjo.bmj.com/content/88/2/161.extract

hope your issue resolves, and maybe audio books as a diversion?

ps. something that has helped me: computer glasses with an anti-glare coating, and polarized sunglasses. glassyeyes has great links for cheap/affordable spectacles.

Wow! I have that, too, and I was never told it could be that bad. Mine's settled down at the bottom of my eye and hasn't been messing with my vision for over a year now. I hope yours does, too.

Jane, I'm so sorry to hear about your affliction. I'm imagining you sitting by a window and listening to music that entertains and moves you. Maybe this respite will bring something unexpected. Be well.
