Congratulations to Nicola Morgan: Deathwatch Is Published Today!

My warmest congratulations to blogging fiend and writing friend, Nicola Morgan for today's publication of Deathwatch. Sally Zigmond (who also comments here regularly) has written a very favourable review of the book (and for once I don't think any chocolate was exchanged, so she must mean every word); and I'll soon be featuring Deathwatch as part of my Trios series. I'm only sorry I couldn't go to the launch party, which is happening tomorrow (so don't expect much sense from Nicola for the next couple of days!).

Is there anything else I could put into brackets there, do you think?

Oh you are lovely - thank you!! I will look forward to doing the same for you, even without exchange of chocolate. nx

Brava to that Morgan woman. I hear she passes out chocolate by the bushels, so I'm nudging my way to the front of the line. 'Course it would be lovely if I could get a copy of the book here across the pond.

BuffySquirrel - I had no idea I was shutting you out!! (Sorry, jane, excuse me while I hijack your excellent [obviously] blog to converse with BuffyS). What happens when you try to comment? I don't have moderation on, so it's definitely not me doing anything. I am sorry - I have nothing against squirrels at all and I always enjoy your comments on jane's blog.

And all the rest of you - awww, thank you etc etc. (Except for Lynn, who's only in it for chocolate and free books. Lynn, I'm about to email you about that...)

And now I'm going back into hiding, where I should be.

Buffy and Nicola, I wonder if I have the solution.

I think that you have your blog set so that the comments form appears as if by magic under the main post; I used to use this format too, but was told that it made it difficult for some people to comment. So I changed it to this option, and the problem went away, apparently.

I'll go and look at my settings so I can tell you how to change it if you want to. Give me a few minutes.

Nicola, try this: go to your blog's dashboard, and click on "settings".

Then click on the "comments" tab, and scroll down to "comment form placement", and select "full page" instead of "embedded below post". Click save, and that should be that.

It looks less elegant, but it should mean that Buffy can comment on your blog as well as on mine.

Jane, do you charge for technical advice? You are a gem.

BuffyS - could you have a try now?

Mrs Morgan: you owe me so much now that I might just have first dibs on those turquoise boots of yours.

I've had to remove my followers thing, as that's causing a problem too. If you scroll right down to the bottom of your blogging dashboard you'll find a link to "known issues": just read that link from time to time and it's amazing how clever it can make you appear. Oh, and what's this "Awfully Big Blog Adventure" of yours? Should I be sending people over, or is it just a fun thing between friends?

Am about to email you ...

btw, yes, I saw you'd had to remove your followers because some people couldn't access your blog. I did notice my stats were down but thought this was either a) the hot weather or b) that I'd become really really boring. Maybe I should remove my followers too. Will it be painful for them?
