On memoware.com I have over two hundred and fifty readers.
All in the space of a few months.
But boy was it hard work - blogging, Facebook, Twitter, etc.des greenehttp://www.desgreene.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5519912440753252776.post-44741317534622786752010-04-19T10:45:32.167+01:002010-04-19T10:45:32.167+01:00Amanda : Hopefully by a less circuitous route. :) ...Amanda : Hopefully by a less circuitous route. :) Glad you enjoyed reading.

Angela : Thank you!Marian Pererahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15700524210146863718noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5519912440753252776.post-144963374499124052010-04-19T02:01:07.442+01:002010-04-19T02:01:07.442+01:00Great to hear you're tale. I haven't just learned from writers like you, I've been encouraged as well. Whatever I do is just paying it forward.

J. L. Jackson : You're right, it can be confusing, especially with all the options available publication-wise.

Glad you like the cover!

Ebony : Thank you! There's also the story of how I tried to emulate Richard Adams' style because I loved Watership Down.

Unfortunately that book was published in 1972. I was writing in 1999.

Anonymous : The most important thing I learned was to not assume that because an agent has sales/experience in one genre, that agent will be equally able to make sales in another.

It's also important for me to have an agent on the same wavelength when it comes to matters like responding within a certain time-frame. My editor at Samhain is great that way. She holds me to deadlines and responds fast. I didn't have the same experience with my ex-agent.

Lynn - You're another inspiration. May you never run out of excellent manuscripts and dry martinis. :)Marian Pererahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15700524210146863718noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5519912440753252776.post-90726954318132929942010-04-16T15:27:32.958+01:002010-04-16T15:27:32.958+01:00Three cheers for Marian.
